MRI Run Day 2

Good workout today, took the MRI Surge and Beta Charge and hit the gym.  Today was a pretty short workout doing 40 minutes of hills.. Didn’t have a chance to go outside so decided to run on the treadmill working on inclines, and speed.  Took the Surge around 11:30 and then the Beta right around 11:45.  Arrived at the gym around noon and the product had already kicked in.  Got my stretch in and hit the run.. The run started off a bit heavy, but right away got easier and easier.  I was able to push today, and felt pretty easy.

Worked on hills and everything felt easy and I felt light.  Felt as if I was gliding and my HR did get a bit high at one point, but was pushing a 6:45 min mile.  As I began to slow down the HR began to slow down and ended up my workout with a farly low HR.  All in all, felt great and thumps up today to MRI.

Today’s workout:

1 mile warm up-1% incline, 6.8 MPH

When I hit the 10 minute mark, 6% incline and 5.5MPH, then declined the treadmill by 1% until I got to 1% incline and 8.5 MPH.

After I was done with the incline, left the incline at 1% and ran an easy 6.7MPH for about 1 mile.

Finished at around 40 minutes and completed about 4.67 miles

Its time to turn it on again, I will be now writing about my training, races and my Spartanettes as much as possible.  I received from our sponsor, MRI Performance a shipment of products last night and started on them.  Really looking forward to eating clean, training and seeing what I can do both from a physique standpoint and performance.  Last year I PR’d every race and this year started off the same way.  My first race of the year was the Cap10K and I PR’d it.. Didn’t think I could and really wasn’t working to do so, but it happened relatively easy.

I want to be able to look back after my journey with the MRI experiment and will be documenting my journey.  Hopefully this product will help me and help others.

Day 1:

Received the shipment late in the day, so took the MRI Recover and Repair supplement which helped me sleep pretty good.  I went to sleep around 9:45 PM and woke up this morning relatively easy at 4:50 Am.  It is extremely hard for me to wake in the am, and not only that, but also I am extremely sleepy most of the day.

After waking up, I was planning on doing some HIT training and so I took me some MRI Surge and MRI Beta Charge.  Within 20 minutes I started getting the tingling sensation and began my workout.  The workout seemed fairly easy and consisted of the following:

4 Rounds for time-

400M Run

25 KB Swings

10 Pull ups

20 Lunges

Completed the workout in about 12 minutes and really wasn’t winded.
After the workout headed home and had me a nice smoothie consisting of: Pineapple, Spinach, Cucumber, Kale, blueberries, Soy Lecithin and Apple Cider Vinegar.
Once I got to the JOB, I brought me some EO2VMax and will sip on it during the morning.  The other supplements I took this morning were the Immune Fit, Vo2Edge and my Omega 3’s.
Lets see how the day goes and tonight got me a 40 minute run with hills.

Another fun day of beautiful Pflugerville weather, andAnother good showing at Spartan Camp last night and already am seeing improvement in everyone’s abilities along with mobility.  The workout was about 20 minutes of non-stop building up focusing mostly on Jump Rope and push-ups with added fun drill along the way.  We had roughly 20 people show up with a few new faces, and a lot of determined ones too.
The workout ended with 3 minutes of planks, and then it was rest and relaxation time.
Next week will be another fun filled workout, focusing on more functional movements, and preparing for the next “Test” in two weeks.

Rest Day

So looking forward to my Monday.  Today is my rest day, and I am really enjoying it and will the rest of the day.  Normally by Sundays I am completely drained from not only the workouts I do on weekends, but the family activities, and cooking my meals for the week.  This weekend was no different, and last night I was in bed before 10 which is extremely rare.
Normally on Rest days if possible, I like to get some sort of therapeutic recovery.  My recovery is mostly: Compression Socks, and pants, Epsom Salt Baths, Rolling out with the Foam Roller and The Stick, and massages.  I also like to get in the sauna or steam room to let my pours open up.
Recovery days are also my day of planning.  I normally plan my workouts and make sure my schedule will allow me to complete my weekly workouts and times.
One recovery exercise I enjoy is dipping my feet in an Ice/heat bath.  If your feet are tired and achy, set up two buckets, one with Ice cold water and one with Hot water.  Dip one foot in one, and the other foot in the other bucket.  Have your feet in the buckets for about 30 seconds each, and go for about 5 minutes.
This is a nice therapeutic activity for your feet....

Tomorrow morning kicking it off with Crossfit, and at lunch time, doing some swimming speed work.

Loving me some Live Soda

Recently I started drinking me some Live Soda, and this stuff tastes great and is good for you.  With probiotics and Kombucha, been feeling really good after drinking this nice little hidden gem.  here is some info I found about Kombucha and Probiotics.

Check out Live Soda at http://www.livesodakombucha.com/

What are the benefits?

Kombucha has reported detoxification and immunity enhancing properties. Analysis of the contents of kombucha confirms that it is rich in amino-acids, probiotics, antioxidants, glucuronic acid, trace minerals, B vitamins. Remember kombucha is a living, enzyme-rich drink. Kombucha contains organic acids, same acid found in vinegar, providing an antibacterial element.
Kombucha helps eliminate lactic acid produced by body, lactic acid is linked to muscle slowness and strain. Kombucha contains glucaric which has been provde to help detox the liver. Kombucha inhibits enzymes responsible for eliminating glucaronic acid. Kombucha contains probiotics which aids the immune system functions, however probiotics are only present in raw Kombucha. Kombucha contains B Vitamins which are used for energy production. Enzymes are also present in Kombucha these break down sugar and help your body process nutrients. Kombucha also contains electrolytes to help keep you hydrated. Lastly, Kombucha contains amino Acids and antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that block the action of free radicals (activated oxygen molecules that can damage cells).

Kicking it off on a wonderful Friday Morning CF Style

What a great morning so far, woke up ready to go with some energy in the tank after my grueling afternoon CF workout.  Got focused this morning and was ready for whatever wonderful workout was on the board upon arriving at Fit and Fearless-Crossfit.
The day started with Front Squats 4X followed by 4X push press-4 sets... this was the warmup... The workout was 3 rounds of the following:
9 KB Swings (Went with 50lbs)
6 Toe to bar touches
3 Wall Walks

The KB Swings were fairly easy, and the first round and a half of T2B were easy, and then the wheels came off.  During the 3rd round, my legs were pretty heavy.  The Wall to Walks are new to me, and basically you do a handstand, and walk towards a wall.  Requires a lot of balance, luckily I have this.  The entire workout took me about 3:19, and I thought I was done...
Not exactly.  After the rounds were over, we had a "Cash out".. There were 6 of us, so there ended up being 6 stations.  1-Row for 1 minute, Bike-1 Minute, Hollow Rocks-1 Minute, Sit-up to stands-1 Minute, and Planks-1 Minute.  It ended up not being as hard as I thought, but still was a bit challenging.
So, the AM workout is done, and later today I will be doing my Tri training.  I have 3X800M swims, or 2400 Meters total.  Should be fun....
Will be needing some rest, tomorrow I am coming out of retirement to play a little Golf, and then will be hitting the track.  Sunday will consist of an 8 Mile Tempo Run.  Short, fun and intense weekend.

My new obsession with Crossfit

In my second week of putting my body through pain.  Recently i began training with my good friend Valerie Hunt, owner of Run ATX and Crossfit Fit and Fearless http://www.runatx.com/ and can say, I am hooked.
I have always done some sort of CF workouts, the workouts are short, sweet and intense.  Currently I am attending 3-4 classes per week and really think this is helping me with my Triathlon training.  Recently in Galveston, during my first half ironman on the run my legs felt a little shaky and could have used more speed.  Nevertheless, did well in the Ironman, but would have done much better had my legs been stronger and I could have run and pushed harder during the fun, half marathon.
Doing CF has been good for me because you are always working on high intensity, and your body gets used to high intensity, and that paired with my Tri training will only make me a faster runner.
We have been doing all kinds of workouts from Deadlift, to toe to bar touches, kettlebells, push ups, and pull ups.  There are many more workouts in store and I am really looking forward to all the fun.
Will be documenting my progress.. The test will be at Lake Pflugerville which will be my next tri, and I am hoping to break the 1:20 mark which should be doable.  Especially with a better swim and run.
The workouts continue, and looking for big improvements.  Now, time to put in work and make it happen.

The Fairways of BH Spartan Camp Kick-Off

Great workout and turnout for the Fairways of Blackhawk Spartan Camp yesterday.  With over 20 people at camp, everyone did an amazing job.  We had fitness levels of all ages and abilities, but everyone showed tons of heart.  As the weeks progress, the goal is to get everyone’s time down from day 1 on “The Test”.  Workouts wont get easier, in fact they will get harder, but as workouts get harder, everyone’s fitness level will also get better.  In 30 days, yesterday’s workout should seem much easier than day 1.  Times ranged from the 15 minute mark to about 38 minutes, and we are looking for huge improvements.

The biggest key to making a huge difference will be: 1) Diet and 2) 2-3 days of training, on your own.  In addition, everyday stretching for about 5 minutes will improve blood flow and flexibility which will naturally lead to more effective and productive workouts.

This is the Test..

25 Push ups
15 Inverted Rows
20 Air Squats
20 Step ups
20 Lunges (10 Each Leg)
100 Yard Shuttle
20 Lunges (10 Each Leg)

My 70.3 Journey, mark one goal down.

What a journey!  I guess it started last June at the Pflugerville Tri.. How?  Well, as I was racing I was passed up by one racer who just blew by me, and then another, and they wore the same jersey.  Their jersey had a Moxie Multi-sport name, and I was like Whoa, those dudes are fast!  A few miles into the bike a third racer passed me, and I tried to hang, but had to get smart and backed off.

I ended up doing the Pville in PR fashion, but first thing on Monday I looked for this Moxie Multi-sport and met my soon to be coach, Blake Uptain.  I started training with Blake and Moxie in July of 2012, and I had a goal in mind and that was too do my first Olympic Distance and then a Half-Ironman followed eventually by a full Ironman.

For 8 months I followed Coach’s training and changed up my diet dramatically.  I began to eat clean, and my workouts were longer but not as intense.  Coach showed me how to rely more on my HR rather than just going all out.  In fact, he had me running at times where I was running a 12 minute mile, keeping my HR at a 115-120, and that was super hard.  I think it was harder for me to keep my HR low and slow than to go all out and have it sky rocket.

After a few months of training, and changing my diet I quckly lost about 10 pounds and really saw some great gains.

Completed my first Olympic Distance challenge in September at Tri-Rock and targeted for 3 hours or less.. Completed it in 2:56 so my first PR was set.  Shortly after, headed to Kerrville for my second Olympic Distance, and did even better, finishing at 2:51.

Lets just say at this point I was hooked.  At this point, my goal was my first half-iron and was targeting the Longhorn at the end of October, but Coach said I could finish but probably not do great so we moved my first half to April, the Galveston 70.3 Ironman.  The training continued and I trained for the Austin 3M Half Marathon and then followed it up with the Austin Livestrong.  At the Austin Livestrong I let it all out and managed at 1:54 which was my PR.

The training continued during the long winter months, and spent a great deal of time in the Pool, running and of course biking.  Many days were spent on the traininer and my stretching also improved to new highs.

Finally in April the race came and I could just not wait to get this race under my belt.  I was mostly nervous about the swim, and that ended up being the easiest part.  Rocked out at 36 minute 1.5 mile swim (Best Ever), and then jumped on the bike for my 56 miles of fun.  The nutrition was on point, and I maintained the HR that Coach had me shoot for.  I kept my hydration up, and managed to ride at over 20 MPH for the 56 miles.  The wind was a bit tough on the way back, but the course was pretty flat.  Sure helped to train on Parmer where it is windy and Hilly.

Coming off the bike, the day got hot and began the run.  The only mistake I really made at the race was my shoe strings.  I wore my Yankz and had not trained in them, and so one of my feet was a bit tight and my foot fell asleep.  Being that there was no way I was stopping, I kept trucking and stuck to the plan.  I was shooting for a 10 minute mile, and managed a 9:59.  This is much slower than my speed, but wanted to make sure I finished and had a good time.

Overall I finished at 5:40 and beat my targeted time by 20 minutes.

What did I learn during this experience is that I can achieve anything, and with proper training and nutrition, the end result is limitless.

Now off to do my first century ride this weekend, going to be participating in The MS150..

Lots to come in 2013

For now, I have one race under my belt, the 3M.  Altough I did not obtain the result I wanted in time, I was happy with my performance and my race.  I missed my Goal by 11 seconds and know what i did and what I have to do on my next race.
I started the race with the much slower folks in the back and I did not kick until a little too late.  Good news is, nutrition has been good and I felt good.  There are many things to come Livestrong.  This will be a good year for my races, I plan on improving dramatically, and setting many PR's.
2013 will be my first half Ironman and I can not wait.
Today is day one of my 70.3 training.  Today, i will be on the bike for 1:45 minutes and will be working on elevating and bringing down my HR.  Being that is cold, it is all trainer.

And the road continues

Training has been coming along nicely and a PR should be an attainable Goal for the 3M half Marathon next Sunday.  Really looking forward to this race, and now it is a matter of mind over matter.
Diet has been good, and training has been solid.  One of the things I have learned is how to stretch better and make my hips stronger which has opened up my legs and allows me to run faster and be more efficient.  iN addition, doing hill work has helped out tremendously.
Lastly, the lbs that have been coming off has been great, I can really feel a difference as I begin to trade in fat for muscle and have shaved off a good amount of lbs.
I feel so fortunate to have started training with my coach, Blake and Moxie Multisport.  I have learned a lot from Coach, and he has held me accountable for all my training and diet.
2013 is going to be my year to surpass my goals, and do things I have never done before.  April will mark the first 70.3 Ironman, and am really looking forward to it.
Here is to 2013, and to my upcoming goals:
3M Half
Austin Livestrong
Galveston 70.3
MS150
Cap 10K
Pflugerville Triathlon
Austin Triathlon
San Antonio Marathon
Tri Rock
**and a few more races, yet to be determined.

The Road to my next PR..

After my lessons learned at the SA Marathon, I am back to the drawing board, and will continue my previous training.  Yesterday, kicked things off with a stellar Hill workout.  Started the day with a nice 2 mile run, a little faster than marathon pace as my warm-up.  Ran to Abottsbury Hill which is about a 6% incline and a mountain of a hill.
The workout was to run up the hill as fast as possible within a minute, and when the minute was done, turn back around and jog down.  At the bottom of the hill, I would return (walking) back to the start and go again.  Each round was about 3:15 including my 45 second walk to bring my HR back down.
This drill was performed 10X, yes 10 times.  Not fun, but an amazing workout and my calves were on fired.
After the last hill, I ran up for one minute and 15 seconds, and then walked one light pole (about 50 Meters) to the next and ran the next pole, etc for 3-4 poles.  At the top of the hill (about 1/2 mile) I began to jog again, and the road was pretty flat.  Took me a few minutes to get my legs from under me, but once I did, i felt great.
Normally I run a 8:45-:9:30 pace, but on my way back I was keeping a stead 8-8:25 pace.   Feeling good and confident I finished off my last run.
Total workout was 1:15 minutes and covered 7 miles.  Burnt 1164 calories and my average HR was 156, with a Hight of 194.
Today is a 3000 yard swim and some CrossFit.. Lets see what happens before the Turkey Day.

San Antonio Rock N Roll, Live and Learn

As an athlete you are taught not to do anything race day you have not done in training.  lesson Learned and a perfect example.  for weeks I had trained for my SA Rock N Roll half marathon, and was hoping to PR.  Everything was set and ready to complete my third PR in as many events.
Race day came, and unlike most practices I decided to take an energy drink (All natural) that i had never taken before a race.  In addition, in all my runs, I had eliminated my need for GU as I had not been drinking coffee but Green Tea instead.
Yep, first mistake...
As we took off for the first mile, I felt a stitch, right away.. Fought through the stitch and just dealt with it.  Was feeling really good, and times were a little better than the plan.  Mile 2, 3, 4.... came and went and was feeling strong.  Hills were fine, and was cruising.  Began to pick up speed every mile-just like the plan.
Then, boom....... Mile 10 came and began to have an upset stomach, but never like anything I had experienced.  my tummy felt as if I had to vomit, and every step I took got harder and harder.  Eventually at about 10 1/2 i could not take it anymore and I decided to walk.  This is when the wheels came off.  I felt as if i had hit a wall altough my legs and mind were fine.  The pain was bad, but I fought through it due to proper training.
I ended up finishing the race, but sure did add time to my finish.  Went from a pace to a killing of my last PR to still a PR, but not what I wanted.
Lessons we learn, and at the 3M, I plan on following the plan 100%.... Here is to my next PR.

My Next Challenges

So much has happened since my last post.. I had succesfully completed my Nutrition program with TKO, and continued working out.
Now, I have challenged myself with doing my Triathlons, and watching my nutrition, yet again.  I have started using My Fit Foods as my meals, and have now been doing the program for 5 days.
The first day I dropped 1.5lbs and have maintained since.. Will see what happens after a month, but I am feeling a little better and think I am losing some BF.  Not too concerned with the scale, but really am concerned with losing BF.
In additoin, I am training for my first Half Ironman next year, possibly in the April time frame.  For now, have a race on Nov 11, 2012 (SA Rock N Roll Marathon).  Training is going good, but need to log some miles as I have not put in many miles yet.  The most I have run is 7, so need to pep it up a little.
My goal this year will be a half marathon time of 1:58 or less.  Year to date, I have surpassed my last two goals which were the Austin Tri Rock, and then shattered my goal at the Kerville Tri.  Hard work, diet and my coach Blake from Moxie Multi Sport have really helped.
Really looking forward to what 2013 brings, hoping to break some more PR's, so far, my last three races have all been PR's.

The next Challenge..

Dreams become a goal when you write them down, and then a reality when you sign up for something.  Today I signed up for my first Olympic Distance Triathlon and so the training shall begin or continue, and so come the early mornings, late nights, and passing on the beer and chips and trading in for oatmeal, brown Rice, egg whites, etc.  my stomach has been in knots all day, but this is something I need to do for myself.
For my training I will follow the training I have read in the book, the Time crunched Triathlete which is a wonderful book.  The training is simplistic, short but tough.  Nothing easy about the training, but only train 3 days per week or up to 8 hours.
My biggest worry is going to be the swim, never have i swam 1500 meters, or especially in open water.  The 1 mile swim has only been something I have done 2-3 times, but two years ago.  Fortunately for me, the running and biking are in check so will just need to build on what I have in the tank now and take it from there.  There are many morning, lunch and late swims in my future.  Really interested to see what the training can do for me.
My ultimate goal is to complete my first full ironman within a year.... It all starts somewhere and that time is now.

The 90 Day Challenge

I began the TKO Challenge on January 16, 2012 after meeting with Rich and discussing my goals in length and filling out forms on what foods I can eat, and what my physical goals would be in the next 90 Days. Rich promptly got back to me with a diet plan, and we met to discuss the foods and make sure I understood all the supplements I would be using and how to prepare my meals. I have been working out for years, and used to be a Regional Manager for the fitness industry. I have always worked out, and been in great cardio shape. In the last few years I have begun competing in Marathons, and Triathlons. In addition, I do a good amount of High Intensity training, but my problem has always been my diet.

So, in 2012 I committed myself to actually change my eating habits and see what my training paired with good nutrition would do for me. And so my 90 day journey began. I knew there would be some hard times ahead, and I had to truly commit myself to being mentally strong. Being mentally strong during my workouts and competitions is a breeze as well as putting my body through the tortures that a 5 hour workout brings. It is not easy to ride 40 miles, then run, followed by weights and all this before 8:30 when most people are getting up on a Saturday. Desire for success on the field has never been an issue. My issue is simple, nutrition.

The journey began at me weighing in at 199lbs and about 17% body fat on Jan 16, 2012. The realistic Goals I set for myself was to lose about 14 lbs, and about 5% body fat, and increasing my overall strength, stamina and cardio. At the end of it all, my wardrobe would probably need an overhaul as well.

The first couple of days on the TKO diet was pure pain. Never had I ate so much, and was basically disgusted with how much food I was consuming. In those first few days, I was miserable eating, and following the regimen. I kept telling myself that I would take it one day at a time. Initially I committed myself to 30 days of clean living. Being very concerned with my weight on the scale I quickly got down on myself because I did not lose any weight the first week, then the second week, and then the third week. In my desperation for weight loss I reached out to Rich and he laughed at me by saying, well how long did it take you to get to where you are now. He told me to be patient, and reassured me that his diet WORKS. My trust in Rich grew, and so I did not weigh myself for another week or so.

Close to the first month of completion the diet began to get easier, my organizing of foods got easier and my prep work became a breeze. Started preparing my foods every Sunday and after two hours of prep time, I did not have to cook until the next Sunday, so I was willing to commit 1-2 hours weekly on a Sunday morning so that I would not have to hassle with cooking everyday.. As the prep work got easier, and the food did not seem so hard to eat, the scale decided to budge and start going in the direction I had hoped for. As this was going on, my clothes started to get bigger and Finally, just finally my stomach started to get smooth and I saw something I had not seen since my college days, ABS? What are those little things on my stomach. My wife started to notice, and at the gym I started noticing my strength increase. Losing weight, you normally lose strength, but this was not the case.

As I finished month 2, I hit my goal of 186lbs, and so I started to reward myself a little more on the weekends. What is incredible about all this is that I had a few cheat meals and cheat days (sorry Rich), and shortly after this, my weight would go back to where it was before the cheat day and meals.. My metabolism is in full gear, and this is great as I have always had a pretty slow metabolic rate.

The road has not been easy, but Rich has been there to encourage me every step of the way, always responding to my text, emails and call within minutes of me reaching out. He has met with me once a month, and has truly inspired me to continue my journey. It has now been three months, and I went from 199lbs to 186lbs, lost a few inches on my waist and was down to about 11% body fat.

As much as it pains me to say this, I will continue this lifestyle as I am hooked on the results… Big changes since day one to now, it is nice to take my shirt off and feel good about myself. I read an interesting quote one day that said, it takes 1 month for you to notice changes, 2 months for friends an 3 for the whole world to notice. In the upcoming months, I plan on losing a little more lbs and then bulking up with Rich’s help…

In my reflection of the last three months, I have learned that I am mentally strong and can accomplish anything, it is a matter of desiring what you want and then going after it. Along the way I have inspired others, and all this for a mere $50.00 bucks. Glad I went in to TKO in early January and that Rich was there. Things happen for a reason.

Thanks Rich.

As the journey continues

Last week on my diet and I have really really seen results. Even though, the last week I have cheated more than normal, actually a lot more I have been very happy with my results and have been so happy I have decided to continue the eating. After this weekend, I will continue the same eating, but will modify a little with the veggies and may add a little cheating on the weekends, gotta enjoy myself, right.
The physical appearance is clear, and the clothes are big, but unfortunately, the cardio is not where it should be or used to be. I have also found that I have been sick a little more recently than the last few years. Being sick has nothing to do with the diet, but has a lot to do with the kiddos.
For the next month, my plan is to work on my TRI training and am incorporating what I am learning from the book I am reading, The Time Crunched Triathlete which incorporates a HIT (High Intensity Training) focus. Less is more, but quality over quantity. Beginning early on in June, the Marathon training will begin and need to figure out what I am going to do. My goals for 2012 are simple and they are to get faster and stronger. The diet has been great, and now need to get my speed up as well.
The focus and goal is to do weights 3X per week, cardio 5-6X, Yoga at least 1X per week and work on stretching. Under cardio, will be adding a good 4-5 days of swimming, 4 days of running and 2-3 biking.. The road is long but the feeling of success is also a great feeling.

Day 78..

The quest continues and now on the home stretch. 78 days of eating the same foods, every single day... Whoa! So hard at first, probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. Didnt think I would get this far at first, and now, seems like a distant memory and cant believe how much easier it has become.
Well, to the results so far.. in 78 days I have now cheated about 5 meals total, and had two days of full cheating for a sanity check. Other than that, been right on target with my diet.
I started at 199Lbs after just not losing weight I went to see Rich at TKO nutrition, TKOnutrition.com and spent $50 bucks for a customized diet. Rich sent me the diet and away I went.
The weight took about 3 weeks to start coming off, and once it started it was like wildfire. Started losing .5lbs per day for about two weeks. My goal weight is 185Lbs and a full six pack. Today I am 187lbs and about a 4 pack. Still looking to have a visible Six Pack and start tightening up my stomach. My pants are really large now, and the best thing of this is my strenght is about the same.
I would say the only negative has been my cardio is not where it was once, but also losing weight makes it hard to stay on top of my cardio. Dont get me wrong, i can still do a half marathon, and ride 30ish miles, but not where I was last year.
The good news with my cardio is that I will be incorporating more carbs as I gear up for my June Tri. Really looking forward to seeing what i can do at a lighter weight.
After April 14th (My 90th Day) I do plan on staying on the "lifestyle" and will change it up slightly to help me with my cardio training. Also, once the goal is reached physically and mentally, I will be looking for test boosters to help me add size. Would love to be a rock hard 190Lb athlete, and would love to be at around 10% body fat or less.
Looking for big things these last two weeks. The TRI training has started and really looking forward to my grand finale, the San Antonio Marathon in SA in November. Would love to run a marathon in about 4 hours.

Day 38...

The diet continues and going strong, well sort of.. It has now been 38 days of joyful bliss.. 38 days of enjoying the same fine foods, over and over and over. It is funny how many recipes you can come up with making the same food and how you can change things up and the crazy things you add to your foods. Being that I am allowed to eat Hot Sauce and seasonings, I have made all kinds of ketchups and dipping sauces. Lemon has also become my friend throughout this time. Although I am miserable, the diet is not that hard as I have a good plan every week, but the one bright note is, I am leaning out. Never before have I followed a diet like this. There have been good days and bad days and just last week I was ready to quit, until I came up with my latest dipping sauce. Buffalo wing sauce with Kettle corn seasoning.. Wow, what a treat, better than ice cream.
I have set a date of March 3rd to be my coming out party, and on that day I have begun planning my eating, and I can tell you I will not be eating oatmeal, or chicken all day. Still trying to decide if I will get back on and alter the diet or change my lifestyle back to the Zone diet. Regardless, it has been an experience and I look forward to continuing my journey and seeing great results.
